On October 11, 2018, Dr. Yuan Siyang, a researcher from the Oral and General Health Research Group of Dundee University, member of the Scientific Research Committee of the International Society for Health Communication and chairman of the Oral Health Committee, visited Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University upon invitation.

At 14:30, in the conference room 714, Xiaoqian Building, Xiangya Medical School, Dr. Yuan Siyang held a lecture about how to develop and analyze a mixed-methods video with an observational study in a clinical setting. Dr. Yuan Siyang made a comprehensive and detailed explanation of the child-care and patient communication with his professional and exquisite knowledge. Taking the oral health of poor children and the FVA rate in Scotland as the background, he introduced the explanation content and introduced the research on children's smiling behavior with a short video.

At the end of the lecture, Deputy Dean Li Xianhong, on behalf of all the teachers and students of our nursing school, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Yuan Siyang for bringing abundant academic sharing to the students. At the same time, she hoped that students can get a lot of enlightenment from this lecture, master advanced scientific research methods, and flexibly apply them in future scientific research practice.
