At 9:00 a.m. on March 4th, the Genetics Medical Education, Clinical Practice and Consultation Seminar was successfully held in conference room 714, Xiangya Nursing School, Central South University. The faculty of Xiangya Nursing School and Lin Ge, Director of Zhongxin Xiangya Reproductive and Genetic Specialist Hospital, attended the opening ceremony. More than 70 nursing managers and clinical nurses from Xiangya Hospital, the Second Xiangya Hospital, the Third Xiangya Hospital, Hunan Tumor Hospital, Citic Xiangya Reproductive and Genetic Hospital, and teachers and students from Xiangya Nursing School attended the seminar.
The keynote speakers at this seminar were Kathleen Anne Calzone, Professor of genetics at the Division of Genetics of Cancer Research Center (CCR) of National Cancer Institute (NCI), and Yi Liu, a genetic counselor at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The one-and-a-half-day seminar further broadened the students' international academic vision in the field of genetics and provided a new direction for the cultivation of highly educated nursing personnel.
