In 2020, since the outbreak of COVID-19, the key Laboratory of Nursing in Hunan Province has actively integrated the nursing resources of three hospitals affiliated to Xiangya Nursing School, so as to give full play to the social service function of the laboratory. Professor Chen Jia, director of the laboratory, and associate professor Huang Hui of the laboratory, as editor-in-chief, led the team members to compile the College Student COVID-19 Protection Manual, which has been published by Hunan Science and Technology Press.、
The College Student COVID-19 Protection Manual is divided into five parts: basic knowledge of COVID-19, daily protection, campus protection, campus life and protection process. Specific content includes introduction of COVID-19, its epidemiological characteristics, clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria and other basic knowledge; how to correctly understand and use protective equipment and hand washing procedures; campus protection in public areas such as libraries, classrooms, toilets and bathrooms, and campus life guidance after returning to school, such as study management, diet management, psychological care, etc.; the flow chart of epidemic prevention and control in colleges and universities, the flow chart of campus and dormitory safety management, the emergency plan of confirmed or suspected epidemic situation and the flow chart of centralized isolation in colleges and universities.
The College Student COVID-19 Protection Manual belongs to Hunan Science and Technology Innovation Platform and Talent Plan Project (2017TP1004). The book is illustrated and easy to understand. It is not only a highly operable and guiding course for epidemic prevention in universities, but also a guide for students to fight against epidemic prevention both physically and psychologically. The publication of this book can provide exemplars of epidemic prevention and control guidance and emergency operation procedures for students who are about to start school or have returned to school, and provide self-protection guidance and epidemic prevention and control plans for undergraduate and vocational students before and after entering school, so as to make further efforts to win the overall battle of epidemic prevention and control.
