On August 6, the American Academy of Nursing officially released the list of academicians to be elected in 2020. Professor Li Xianhong, associate dean at Xiangya School of Nursing and Professor Li Yinglan, were both selected as Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) to recognize their outstanding contributions in nursing management, nursing education and nursing research. Up to now, three nursing experts from Central South University have been awarded the honorable titles of FAAN.

Li Xianhong (RN, PhD), Professor, Associate Dean at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University; Young Core Instructors of Hunan Province; Member of the 13th Executive Committee of Hunan Women’s Federation; Deputy Director of Hunan Women’s and Children’s Health and Development Research Center; Member of The Scientific Research Committee of the Chinese Nursing Association; Vice Chairman of Health Education Committee of Hunan Nursing Association; Editorial board member of the fifth Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of HIV/AIDS. Her Research focuses on health promotion among vulnerable populations. Professor Li got trained in research methodology and health policy and system for more than two years in Yale University and UCLA. She is the PIs for more than 10 international, national, and local research projects. She has published more than 70 papers, edited and participated in the compilation of 13 teaching materials, and won 5 provincial and ministerial awards.

Li Yinglan, Professor of Nursing, Doctoral Student Tutor, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University. The ninth batch of Xinjiang assisting cadres of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. From April 2021 - present, assisting in the School of Nursing of Xinjiang Medical University.
