The 2020 Autumn Academic Lecture was successfully held in the form of ZOOM online live broadcast. The conference was lectured by Professor Ann Bartley Willams from Yale University and Dr. Lloyd A. Goldsamt from New York University, and chaired by Professor Li Xianhong, deputy dean of Xiangya School of Nursing.

Professor Ann Bartley willams brought a sharing on “How to Combine Research with Practice”. Starting with the definition of combination of research and practice, she led everyone to clarify the steps of combining research with practice and the distance between research and practice. Then she made a comprehensive analysis on the advantages and disadvantages of evidence-based nursing, the status quo of evidence-based nursing in the United States and the difficulties it faced.

Dr. Lloyd A. Goldsamt, with the theme of “Introduction to Qualitative Research Analysis”, introduced in detail the concept and classification of qualitative research, the difference between qualitative research and quantitative research, and how to carry out qualitative research sampling and sampling strategy.
