Experts from The University of Pittsburgh Came to Visit Our School

On the morning of September 13, Jennifer Hagerty Lingler, associate professor of nursing at the University of Pittsburgh, Professor Liming Zhang, Deputy Director of Medicine in China of the Global Department of Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh, And Jeff Beinstein, Vice President of International Services of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, accompanied by Teacher Long Yanfang of Xiangya Hospital, visited our school for exchange.

The University of Pittsburgh is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States. The purpose of this visit is to discuss the cooperation with Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University in scientific research and personnel training.

Jennifer, an associate professor and core director of education at the Federally funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in Pittsburgh, shared her thoughts on the psychosocial and ethical implications of cognitive impairment in later life. Afterwards, Professor Zeng Hui of Xiangya Nursing School also introduced her research progress and results.


Professor Zhang Liming introduced the characteristics and scale of The University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to the teachers in detail, put forward constructive suggestions on the bilateral cooperation, and expressed his willingness to contribute to the bilateral cooperation.


The visiting experts also visited the nursing training center and the laboratory of basic research and health management of chronic diseases, and the guests appreciated the comprehensive high-standard configuration and basic characteristic research of our school.


During this exchange, both sides reached a preliminary consensus on the joint training of doctors and scientific research cooperation, believing that the common exchange and cooperation will definitely boost the construction of first-class disciplines in our university.
