Catherine Water, A Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, Teaches the International Graduate Students at Our School

In order to further improve the subject level of nursing science in Central South University, improve the quality of master's teaching of nursing science in our school, and cultivate the international vision of students and nursing talents in excellent communities, we specially invited Catherine, Deputy Dean of the School of Nursing at University of California, San Francisco, to visit our school from June 4 to 19, and asked her to conduct a two-week "advanced community nursing course" teaching and academic exchange for the postgraduate students jointly trained by Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University and the School of Nursing of University of California.

Professor Catherine has long been devoted to the scientific research of community related health problems. Her research areas include community lifestyle, healthy behavior, health promotion, primary and secondary prevention, senior directive planning, population health, health equity, etc. This time, she gave lectures to jointly trained students in a way of video inspiration, discussion and exploration, and courseware teaching, so that students could really understand the differences between public health care in the United States and China and learn from them.

In the spare time, Catherine and her students also shared their current research directions and later research goals. Professor Catherine gave them full recognition and guidance, which benefited them a lot. Through two weeks of study, students have a deeper understanding of public health care.

(After class, the students still had a heated discussion with Professor Catherine Waters on the questions they were interested in and confused and shared with the teacher the public welfare activities like "Ant Forest" conducted by Alibaba.)
