On the morning of December 30, 2019, Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University held an appointment ceremony for full-time foreign professors, inviting Maritta Valimaki from Finland to be a full-time foreign professor of Central South University.

Maritta Valimaki is a former Deputy Dean and Chair of the Research Committee at Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Nursing, Visiting Professor at the George School of Health and Social Care at University of London and Honorary Lecturer at University of Tampere, Finland. He has been in charge of nearly 50 projects, including nearly 20 major projects. Currently, the research projects are mainly devoted to mental health education and research development in Asia. He has published nearly 200 academic papers and delivered keynote reports at international academic conferences for about 20 times. Professor Maritta Valimaki has a deep understanding of education and scientific research.
