In order to ensure that comprehensive nursing practice will not be postponed during the COVID-19 epidemic, Xiangya Nursing School, Central South University earnestly implements the “Notice of Central South University on Online Teaching of Medical Related Majors during the Epidemic Prevention and Control and Teaching Arrangement for 2020 Undergraduate Students”, and plans to deploy and inform all practice bases to do a good job in online teaching for students of undergraduate grade 2020. All practice bases have responded positively since late March to carry out online practice teaching for students of Xiangya Nursing School.

After receiving the notice, each department of the three affiliated hospitals formulated a thorough online practice teaching plan, including teaching objectives, teaching arrangements, the specific content of online teaching, examination and evaluation and appraisal. According to the internship plan, each department carries out online internship teaching in an orderly manner through WeChat group, Tencent conference, QQ voice, MOOC, etc. The teaching content involves specialized theoretical knowledge, case observation, medical history writing, specialized operation training and so on. In combination with clinical practice, teachers vividly present the course content through rich teaching forms such as PPT teaching, thematic MOOC, virtual simulation, ward round, and online real-time interaction. After class, the teacher conducts online assessment, establishes student files, and scientifically tests the knowledge points of specialized subjects to ensure the effectiveness of classroom learning. In some departments, in addition to the teaching task, teachers also require students to select one knowledge point for literature review and PPT presentation every week, which expands the breadth and depth of learning.
