On August 31, the official website of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology officially announced the results of the 9th "Hunan Provincial Outstanding Science Popularization Award". Professor Chen Jia, Director of the Hunan Provincial Key Laboratory of Xiangya School of Nursing, and Associate Professor Huang Hui of the laboratory served as the editor-in-chief of "Covid-19 Protection Manual for College Students", which won the second prize of Hunan Provincial Outstanding Science Popularization Award.
It is reported that 20 books and 27 films and TV works participated in the review. Nine experts from universities, publishing, media and other industries were invited to review and score the 47 shortlisted science works. The participating works mainly focus on medical knowledge, scientific and technological innovation, common sense of life, food safety, fire safety and other topics, presenting a series of excellent science and creativity works, reaching the popularization of scientific and technological knowledge, advocating scientific methods, disseminating scientific ideas, and promoting science, which plays a positive role in further improving the scientific quality of the whole people and comprehensively enhancing hunan's scientific and technological innovation ability.
“Covid-19 Protection Manual for College Students”belongs to the Science and Technology Innovation Platform and Talent Plan project of Hunan Province (2017TP1004). The book is illustrated and easy to understand. It is not only a highly operable and guiding course for epidemic prevention in universities, but also a guide for students to fight against epidemic both physically and psychologically. The publication of this book provides exemplars of epidemic prevention and control guidance, as well as standardized procedures of emergency operations for students who have returned to school at the beginning of the semester. It also provides self-protection guidance and epidemic prevention and control plans for students of undergraduate and vocational colleges before and after they enter school, so as to make their own efforts to win the overall battle of epidemic prevention and control for the whole country.
