The Student Council of Xiangya School of Nursing (abbreviation: Student Council) is a student group organization under the correct leadership of the Xiangya School of Nursing Party Committee and the specific guidance of the Xiangya School of Nursing Youth League Committee. It serves as a bridge and link to contact students. It is based on leading the students’ thoughts and aims to serve students wholeheartedly. It resolutely carried out its work in accordance with the "Student Council Organization Reform Plan" and "Several Opinions on Promoting the Deepening Reform of the Student Council in Universities" to promote the all-around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labour education. It unites and guides students to become outstanding talents who are committed to the development of the motherland's medical and health care and meet the requirements of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The Student Council is composed of the presidium and six departments (Office, Publicity department, News Department, Academic Department, Sports and Entertainment Department, Rights and Interests Department). The presidium presides over the daily work of the Student Council, is responsible for allocating, guiding, and supervising the work of each department, and grasping the thoughts and working conditions of each department. It grasps the development direction of the Student Council, promptly reports the work of the Student Council to superior leaders in a timely manner and conveys the relevant instructions of the school, college, and instructor down. The main responsibilities of the six departments are:

1. Office -- to manage affairs comprehensively and standardize cadre team

2. Publicity Department -- to focus on current affairs hotspots and create favorable atmosphere

3. News Department -- to build a propaganda matrix and lead the ideological trend

4. Academic Department -- to enhance academic atmosphere and promote a good style of study

5. Sports and Entertainment Department -- to improve physical and psychological health and create a cultural atmosphere

6. Rights and Interests Department-- to protect the rights and interests of teachers and students and deepen the sense of service.
