Research Center for Women's and Children's Health and Development

The cause of women and children is a major issue related to the future of the country and the nation, and the level of women's and children's health and development is an important symbol of the degree of progress of social civilization. Consolidate and improve the level of women's and children's health, is to consolidate the foundation of the development of the cause of women and children. At present, the health of women and children in China is still facing many problems. For example, birth defects, nutritional imbalance leading to childhood obesity and thus inducing chronic diseases, malnutrition of children from poor families, and common malignant tumors such as cervical cancer and breast cancer seriously endanger women's health, etc. 

In view of this, Hunan Women's and Children's Federation and Central South University jointly established the "Research Center for Women's and Children's Health and Development"; the Research Center is affiliated with Xiangya School of Nursing of Central South University. The research center is guided by Xi Jinping's Socialist Thought with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, with Health China 2030 as the general outline, the implementation of the Hunan Provincial Women's Development Plan (2016-2020) and the Hunan Provincial Children's Development Plan (2016-2020) as the guide, with the goal of promoting the health of women and children in Hunan Province, and creating a provincial-level research and service The provincial-level "industry-academia-research" research platform combines research and service, and unifies theory and practice. Through the team of experts, with the advantage of Comprehensive University of Central South University, it reflects the interdisciplinary intersection, gathering experts in sociology, public health, law, literature and philosophy, etc. to carry out interdisciplinary research and provide evidence for the development of women and children in Hunan Province.
