BIO


Dr. Vaelimaeki is the Board member of the Academy of Finland, the Research Council for Biosciences Health and the Environment (2016-2021). She has been awarded with the First Class, of the Order of the White Rose of Finland (in Finnish: Suomen Valkoisen Ruusun I luokan ritarimerkki) by the President of the Republic of Finland (6th of December 2018) She is a Management Board member of two COST network. She has over 330 peer-reviewed journal articles and 27 book chapters. Dr Vaelimaeki’s h-index is 36 (Scopus), 33 in Web of Science, 56 in Google Scholar, and her i10-Index is 199 (Google Scholar). Dr Vaelimaeki is committed to mentor young researcher and faculty members in their academic career. She has supervised 30 doctoral candidates. Dr. Vaelimaeki is a former board member of the Cochrane Schizophrenia Group and associate editor of the International Journal of Nursing Studies. Currently Dr. Vaelimaeki is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Nursing Studies. Her professional background is a registered nurse (1984) and she has specialized in psychiatric nursing and mental health (1985). She is engaged in developing user-centered technological solutions and testing their effectiveness in a variety of treatment settings. She has her expertise in evidence-based research, practice development and teaching.
