BIO


Professor Jin Yan has been a registered nurse since 1990, she has rich experience in clinical nursing as well as nursing management. In clinical nursing, she had been working in 10 different clinical departments, including the operation room, neurology, pediatrics, respiratory, cardiology, and oncology. In nursing management, she had been a head nurse for eight years, had experiences of working in research department, continuing education department, and nursing department. She is currently the director of nursing department of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. She has her expertise in psychosocial nursing, mainly in pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and mHealth for HIV prevention among men who have sex with men. She has gained 23 funded programs, published over 160 peer-reviewed journal articles, 9 books and 10 book chapters. Dr. Yan led the establishment of Strategical Alliance of Industrial Innovation for Nursing in Hunan province, the alliance consists of hospitals, industry companies and universities. She also led the launch of Hunan Pulmonary Rehabilitation Training Center, dedicated to the dissemination and application of PR technology. Dr. Yan is the chief member director in the Hemodynamic Purification Committee of Hunan Nursing Association, the member of Nursing Standard Board of National Health Care Standards Board, nursing expert panel of the American Thoracic Association, the HIV prevention expert group of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, etc.
