Professor Zhuqing Zhong has been a registered nurse since 1994 and has started working as a specialized nurse in the field of chronic disease management since then. She has long been engaged in clinical nursing research throughout her clinical services as a nurse and as a nurse manager. She mainly focuses on developing technological solutions to chronic disease prevention, management and extended care, especially those relevant to prevention and intervention for hypertension as well as researches on hypertensive medication taking and adherence. She has been committed to developing pragmatic and effective care strategies for hypertensive patients in order to improving their adherence to hypertensive medication taking and healthy lifestyles, promoting blood pressure control. She also has her expertise in clinical nursing informatization, clinical medication administration safety and risk prediction research.
Dr. Zhong is a Professor of Xiangya School of Nursing at Central South University, Associate Director in Nursing Department of Third Xiangya Hospital at Central South University. She has published over 40 academic papers and has 4 books as associated editors. She has also spoken at several important academic conferences at home and abroad. She has supervised several national research projects and has peer-reviewed for several scientific journals at home and abroad as a reviewer.
Dr. Zhong is a member of the group of nursing pedagogy of Nursing Association of Hunan Province, the Secretary of Nursing Health Education Committee of Nursing Association of Hunan Province, the Director of the branch of nursing of Chinese Research Hospital Association, a standing Committee member of the nurse electrocardiogram Specialized committee of Chinese electrocardiograph engineering association, and she is the editorial board of the Journal of nursing science, China.
