Professor Jingping Zhang has engaged in nursing practice, teaching and research for forty years. Since 1996, she has always paid attention to the mental health of nurses, patients and vulnerable groups. She worked with nurses in Australia, Syria and Nepal to explore cross-cultural occupational mental health of nurses. A series of training was carried out through the combination of online and offline methods. The training spread across the country, allowing nurses to receive psychological counseling and intervention, which was proved to be effective. She has also designed online course of medical nursing and written the first textbook of psychological nursing at postgraduate level in China, which were widely used by nursing faculties all over the country. Professor Zhang is a vice-director of Hunan Nursing Association and Nursing Psychology Committee of Chinese Psychological Association. She was one of the first psychologists affirmed by the Chinese Psychological Society. She has over ten peer-reviewed journal articles and ten book chapters. Professor Zhang is committed to mentor postgraduates in their academic career. She has supervised twelve doctors and five doctoral candidates.
