Program Description

Nursing is a comprehensive and practical First-level Medical Discipline involving independent knowledge and a systematic theoretical system, guided by both natural science and social science. This program prepares students to become general registered nurses with the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China. 

Graduates of the program are qualified to provide quality patient care and promote the health of people within the complex and increasingly technological healthcare environment. The principal subjects studied include biological and behavioral sciences, health promotion and maintenance, nursing practice and theory, nursing research, and information technology. In addition, students gain experience caring for clients in both community and hospital settings.

Program Requirement

1. Knowledge Requirement

  1. Solid knowledge of basic medical science and systematic knowledge of basic, clinical, and community nursing.

  2. Basic knowledge of preventive health care.

  3. Knowledge of natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences.

  4. Knowledge of sports, military, and law.

2. Skills Requirement

  1. Students should be prepared with basic nursing skills, knowledge of common diseases, specialized nursing and critical care skills and special monitoring skills.

  2. Students should be able to apply nursing procedures to implement safe and effective holistic care; must have basic disease prevention and health promotion skills, as well as good communication skills.

  3. Strong ability of independent learning and lifelong learning; good command of foreign language and computer application; basic research ability.
