Program Description
Domestic ranking: in 2012, the Ministry of Education (MOE) ranked nursing in the fourth place in the overall level assessment of national first-level disciplines, ranking 10%-11%; in 2016, the MOE ranked A+ in the overall level assessment of national first-level disciplines, ranking in the top 5%. International ranking: in 2017, 2018, and 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) Discipline Ranking, it has entered the world's top 100 list for three consecutive years. 2017 is the only nursing discipline representing China to enter the world's top 100.
The faculty of the school is strong and reasonably structured, integrating the faculty of four tertiary affiliated hospitals of Central South University, combining teaching, scientific research and clinical practice, forming the "Great Xiangya" and "Great Nursing" systems. There are 68 full-time faculty members, including 27 professors (including chief nurses), 30 associate professors (including associate chief nurses), and 10 postdoctoral supervisors and doctoral supervisors. Among the young and middle-aged teachers, there are 9 post-doctoral fellows and 34 teachers who have obtained doctoral degrees. Among the faculty members, there are 2 experts who enjoy the special allowance of the State Council, 1 member of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and 1 honorary title of "Global Excellence in Nursing" (the only one in China).
The school has five specialized departments, including basic nursing, humanistic nursing, clinical nursing, community nursing and midwifery, one nursing training center, and three clinical nursing skill centers (located in three affiliated hospitals). The nursing training center has an existing area of 1700m2, including a basic nursing training room, clinical nursing training room, community nursing training room, pediatric nursing training room, obstetrics and gynecology nursing training room, emergency nursing training room, etc., with an investment of more than 15.9 million yuan; the clinical nursing skills center has an existing area of 9230m2, with an investment of nearly 70 million yuan.
The school has built the Health Care Research Center of Central South University, the Center for Basic Research and Management of Chronic Diseases in the School of Nursing, the Nursing Psychology Research Center, and the Health Promotion Research Center for Vulnerable Groups. Since 2016, more than 150 scientific research projects have been awarded, including 12 national projects and 14 international cooperation projects, with total funding of more than 10 million yuan into the University. We have published more than 1500 papers, more than 200 SCI/SSCI/EI indexed; nearly 350 patents, including 1 domestic invention patent; edited 9 national planning textbooks; received 3 provincial and ministerial research awards (100% contribution); participated in the development of 1 international standard, 3 domestic guidelines and expert consensus.
The school has established stable relationships with Yale University, University of California, San Francisco, University of Washington, University of Dundee, Canada, University of Toronto, Monash University, Flinders University, Kyushu University, Japan, Chiang Mai University, Thailand, Chinese University of Hong Kong, etc. for joint training, research collaboration, academic exchange, and staff exchange.

Conditions of application
Applicants who are within three years of graduation from the Ph.D. program, are of good character, in good health, and under 35 years of age, and meet the recruitment requirements of the university and the school may apply for admission to the position; for those who are particularly outstanding, their age may be appropriately relaxed to under 38 years of age.

Mode of Study
2 years (If the work needs to be approved, it can be extended for no more than 2 years. Excellent post-doctoral staff can apply to leave the station in advance, but the time limit for working in the station should not be less than 21 months)
Career development and other support
The university has established the "Sublimation Postdoctoral Award" (selected once a year), and the selected candidates are not restricted by the ratio of the university's sources when they apply to stay in the university after leaving the position; those who are selected in the "Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program," "Postdoctoral International Exchange Introduction Program," "Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program," "Postdoctoral International Exchange Introduction Program" or other postdoctoral talent programs with the same level of competition and outstanding research results will be awarded the title of "Sublimation Postdoctoral Award" directly after graduation.
