Founded in 2013, the Health Care Research Center of Central South University (CSU) is an institution affiliated with the Xiangya School of Nursing at CSU. Building on the multi-disciplinary research team of CSU and its affiliated medical institutions, the Center is dedicated to advanced theories and technologies in the field of health care at home and abroad, as well as national and provincial key research projects. It works to translate research into application so as to promote the healthy and sustainable development of health care in China.


The research center has one director, one executive director, five deputy directors and eight researchers. Its units include Research Laboratory of technology and products for health care, Health Care Innovative Service and Demonstration Laboratory, Education and Training Center, etc. The main research areas are as follows:


1. Providing health care for communities, health risk evaluation and intervention for the whole life cycle, and technologies and products for managing common chronic diseases, as well as health care information technologies and product development.


2. Establishing standards and regulations for services in health care. These include technical standards and regulations for health risk prediction and intervention as well as early warning, and for the evaluation of health care effectiveness and for nursing services of common chronic disease.


3.Research on innovative service models of health care. This includes community-based health care models, community-based health management models using Chinese medicine, as well as community-based chronic disease care and management models. In addition, it has also developed a number of other services, such as the Internet + nursing service model, and an integrated health care service model for the elderly.
