Recently, the book The Development History of Nursing Science in Central South University was edited by Professor He Guoping and Professor Huang Shanqi from The Archives of Central South University. The book was also co-edited by the dean Tang Siyuan and the secretary Luo Junfei. The book won the first prize in the First Educational History and Culture Achievement Competition. This award is jointly awarded by History Department of Hunan Education Bureau, Hunan Education History Compilation Committee and Hunan School History Research Association.

It is reported that The Development History of Nursing Science in Central South University is a book written by Xiangya Nnursing School to celebrate Xiangya's Centennial birthday, led by Professor He Guoping, together with Huang Shanqi, a teacher from the Archives of Central South University. They led the teachers to collect various historical materials in many ways and took several months to compile the book. The book records 104 years of nursing development from the establishment of Yali Nursing School (the predecessor of Xiangya Nursing School) on November 5, 1911 to 2014. Since one hundred years ago, Xiangya nursing education of Central South University has experienced a tortuous path of relocation, suspension, reorganization and merger, and has grown into a first-class school in China and become internationally known. Xiangya Nursing School obtained the master's degree authorization point in 2000 and the doctor's degree authorization point in 2004, which is one of the earliest doctor's degree authorization points in China. After our nursing discipline became the first-class discipline in 2011, our school's nursing science obtained the first batch of first-class discipline doctor's points and post-doctoral research flow station in China. In the third round of discipline evaluation organized by the center for degree and graduate education development of the Ministry of Education of China in 2012, nursing science of Central South University ranked fourth in the national nursing discipline ranking, and the main indicators of discipline and talent team development ranked the top three in the country; in 2014, nursing science of Central South University was shortlisted as a national five-star discipline in the medical discipline ranking of China University; in 2015, the dean, Professor Tang Siyuan, supervised post-doctoral student Li Yamin.Li, who became the first post-doctoral student of nursing in China
