Robin Gail Whittemore from Yale University is A Visiting Professor at Central South University

On the morning of April 16, 2019, Xiangya Nursing School of Central South University held a visiting professor awarding ceremony and invited Professor Robin Gail Whittemore from Yale University to be a visiting professor of Central South University. Xiangya Nursing School Party Secretary Li Tao, Dean Tang Siyuan and people in charge of different functional departments attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Associate Professor Guo Jia. Secretary Li Tao read the appointment letter and made a speech. He affirmed Professor Robin's contribution and efforts to Xiangya Nursing School over the years and welcomed her to continue working in our school as a visiting professor of Central South University. Dean Tang Siyuan then presented the appointment letter to Professor Robin. He said that the development of Xiangya Nursing School has been supported by Yale University. In the past ten years, Xiangya Nursing School has trained many excellent nursing talents for our school. I hope she can continue to make more efforts and contributions to our school in her future work.

Dedicated to the study of lifestyle interventions for diabetes prevention and treatment and psychosocial adaptation outcomes for improving chronic disease. So far, more than 130 SCI papers have been published and she has trained more than 30 graduate students. From 2014 to now, she has been awarded the National Institute of Health (NIH) project grant every year. As the first author, she has received the grant amount of US $3,350,000, totaling over US $5,000,000.
