On March 19th in 2019, Dr. Lloyd A. Goldsamt, a senior research scientist at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing and an adjunct professor at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, was invited by Xiangya School of Nursing Central South University to give a lecture to its students.

At 12pm, chaired by Li Xianhong, associate dean of Xiangya School of Nursing, the lecture took place in the packed meeting room 714 in Xiaoqian Building at Xiangya New Campus with participants including Professor Wang Honghong, Professor Zeng Hui, Professor Yang Min and Associate Professor Zhou Wenjuan.

In a round of rapturous applause, Lloyd A. Goldsamt addressed the audience on the topic of "Engaging male sex workers in sexual healthcare: Preliminary findings from a sexual health promotion intervention in Vietnam".

Lloyd A. Goldsamt elaborated on male sexual workers participation in sexual health projects in todays Vietnam, pointing out the significance of sexual health care amid the prevalence of young injection drug users and male homosexuality and the positive outcomes yielded from the project of sexual health promotion intervention in Vietnam. Recounting how he rose up to the challenges and difficulties encountered in the project, Professor Lloyd A. Goldsamt encouraged his audience to find a way out, breaching the obstacles facing their nursing research or work.

This professional and detailed lecture by Lloyd A. Goldsamt's deepened students knowledge of the research on male sexual workers and male homosexuality. Inquisitive students raised questions with great enthusiasm, which were answered by Lloyd A. Goldsamt one by one, fostering a positive academic atmosphere.
