Located in Changsha, a famous historical city and the capital of Hunan Province, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University (formerly the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical University) was born out of Yali Hospital, one of the earliest western hospitals established in China by the American Yali Association in 1906. Founded in 1958, as a large-scale comprehensive Third-level A Grade Hospital affiliated to Central South University, a key university of the Ministry of Education, it is among the hospitals in China boasting the most comprehensive disciplines and the strongest techniques and is known as Xiangya, the most outstanding hospital in southern China. It has won many honorary titles, such as the National Top 100 Hospitals, the National May 1st Labor Certificate, the National Advanced Collective of Health System, and National Satisfying Medical and Health Institution.
