22 Foreign Students Graduated from the First Foreign Aid Master Program Sponsored by China Ministry of Commerce and Held by Central South University

On June 30th, "the 2017 Master's Program in Advanced Nursing and Medical Technology in Developing Countries Graduation Ceremony and Degree Awarding Ceremony" was held in the academic lecture hall of Xiangya Medical School Library. Xu Kai, director of training center of the Ministry of Commerce, Liao Guanghui and Li Peng, director and deputy director of provincial department of commerce regulations and international economic and trade relations, Bai Yi, deputy director of our school's international cooperation and exchanges, Li Xinhua, director of the international students office, Professor Tang Siyuan and Wang Honghong, dean and deputy dean of Xiangya Nursing School attended the ceremony and delivered speech. The ceremony was hosted by Yuan Shiping, deputy party secretary of Xiangya Nursing School.

The graduation ceremony began with cheerful music. Li Xinhua congratulated 22 students from seven countries, including Nepal, The Dominican Republic, Palestine and South Sudan, and read out the list of foreign students with master's degrees from Central South University. Mr. Frank, the graduate representative from Tanzania, made a warm speech. He said that looking back over the past two years, he would like to thank the Chinese government for giving him a precious learning opportunity. The time when he studied and worked hard together with friends from different countries in Central South University will become the best memory in his life. Meanwhile, on behalf of all the graduates, he expressed his heartfelt thanks and respect to his parents, teachers, Central South University and all the Chinese friends who have helped him.

Bai Yi, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department at Central South University, said the university will continue to cooperate with developing countries in the medical field, and encourages students to make their own efforts in the field of nursing after returning home to promote the global medical and health cause.


Liao Guanghui, director of Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, highly affirmed the work and achievements of our school in undertaking the first foreign aid master program. The two years' study made the students have a comprehensive and profound understanding of the development of China's medical and health undertakings. He hoped that the students would act as ambassadors of international friendship and work hard to further enhance multilateral friendship and cooperation with China.
