The Division of Surgical Nursing of Central South University is an energetic, high-quality, team-oriented faculty. It undertakes the teaching of undergraduate courses such as "Surgical Nursing Science", "Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing Science" and postgraduate courses in the School of Nursing. It is composed of full-time nursing teachers with extensive teaching experience in surgery and obstetrics and gynecology and first-line clinical nursing teachers in three affiliated hospitals of Central South University with rich clinical experience. The Division of Surgical Nursing currently has 31 full-time and part-time teachers, including 5 doctors, 6 professors, and 16 associate professors; 11 of them have visited and studied in the United States for half a year to 1 year.

Teachers in the Division of Surgical Nursing has received 36 project funds, including 1 national-level project, 3 CMB, and 34 provincial-level projects; published more than 160 scientific papers, including 13 SCI and 45 CSCD; edited 17 textbooks , participated in editing more than 30 textbooks; won 9 national patents.

The Division of Surgical Nursing has a standard modern surgical laboratory, which provides students with operation training related to the operating room to improve students' practical ability and operation skills. In addition, the laboratory also has a modern automatic birthing simulator, which can show students the entire operation process and the procedures before delivery, during delivery and after delivery, train students' clinical operation skills, and lay a good foundation for entering clinical work.
