The Division of Humanistic Nursing of the School of Nursing, Central South University was established in accordance with the requirement proposed by the Ministry of Education that “Undergraduate students of nursing should have knowledge of arts and humanities”. There are 4 associate professors in the Division of Humanistic Nursing, including a doctor, a master and 2 doctorate candidates. They are mainly responsible for the full-time undergraduate and postgraduate education of Nursing Education, Nursing Psychology, Nursing Management, Nursing Aesthetics, etc, in order to instill the students with the people-oriented conceptions of humanity, so that the overall quality of the nursing sector is improved.
In recent years, the faculty has published over 30 articles, including 3 that have been included by SCI; edited or co-edited 19 books of various kinds, as well as a monograph; undertaken several national and provincial projects and won 5 awards for scientific research. In order to comply with the 2011 Chinese Nursing Career Development Program Outline on "Increase the proportion of psychology, humanities and social science knowledge in the curriculum setting, and enhance the awareness of humanistic care", the curriculum of the Humanities Department has been expanded accordingly. Under the guidance of Party Secretary Luo Junfei and the joint efforts of the humanities department, the School of Nursing and the School of Liberal Arts of Central South University will work together to set up courses in the School of Nursing, and build a cross-disciplinary course in humanities and literacy in nursing. At the same time, humanities courses will be combined with clinical practice to provide students with practical training courses such as makeup, etiquette, code of conduct and language expression.
The Division of Humanistic Nursing of the School of Nursing, Central South University was established at an early time, and has seen rapid development, which makes it the pioneer of the humanistic education of nursing in China. The incorporation of humanities into the curriculum conforms with the requirement for quality nursing service, and its continual development will, from all aspects, improve the overall quality and atmosphere of the nursing sector, thus building a bridge between doctors and nurses, and between nurses and patients. With the joint efforts of the division leaders and the faculty, Division of Humanistic Nursing of the School of Nursing, Central South University will become better and better, and will one day occupy an irreplaceable position in the education of nursing and clinical nursing practices.

Luo Junfei: Male, Han nationality, born in July 1970, member of the Communist Party of China, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Management, Associate Researcher, Master Supervisor of School of Public Administration, MPA Instructor of Business School. He used to be deputy director of the Office of the Party Committee of Central South University, deputy director of the Office of Central South University and director of the Supervision Office. He is currently the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Nursing of Central South University.
