Xianhong Li, RN, PhD, FAAN, is Professor, Associate Dean at Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University. She is the Member of Medical Ethics Association of Chinese Medical Association (CMA); Research committee member, Association of Chinese nurses; Chairman, Young Scientists Association of Nursing, Central South University;Vice director of Health Education committee, Hunan Association of Chinese nurses; Executive director of Hunan Provincial Research Center for Women and Children Health;Editorial board member, Chinese Journal of AIDS & STD; Vice Chair of Health Education Committee of Hunan Provincial Nursing Association; The 13th Committee member of the “Women Research Committee” in Hunan Province.
Her Research focuses on health promotion among vulnerable populations, especially on social science and behavioral interventions for HIV/AIDS prevention. Dr.Li started her research in HIV/AIDS areas since 2005. She got trained in research methodology in Yale University from 2007-2008, and also UCLA from 2014-2015 and 2016-2017. She is the PIs for more than 10 international, national, and local research projects (including 1 grant from NCSF, 1 from National Social Science Fundation, and 1 from NIH). She has published more than 80 papers, and 20 papers are indexed in SCI (including PLOS Medicine, JANAC, Patient Care and STDs, International Journal of infectious disease, Journal of interpersonal Violence, Psychotherapy, BMC open, and so on). She is the reviewers for the journal of Nursing & Health Sciences, Plos One, International Journal of Sexual Health, Psychotherapy, Chinese Journal of HIV/AIDS, and Chinese General Medicine.

2009 Award winner of Ray Wu Prize for Excellent doctoral students in life science from mainland China,Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore(10 winners in total in each year, and I am the only one from nursing area).
2010 “The strategy and application of HIV/AIDS prevention and control” received the third prize of 2010 Science and Technology Progress Award in Hunan Province, and received the second prize of 2010 Medical Science and Technology Award in Hunan Province (Rank 3 among the authors).
2011 Excellent dissertation award in Central South University.
2014 The academic paper of “Stigma Mediates the Relationship Between Self-Efficacy, MedicationAdherence, and Quality of Life Among People Living with HIV/AIDS in China” received the 15th Natural Science Academic Awards in Hunan Province
2014 As the PI, the project of "Reduce high risk sexual behavior through motivational interviewing among MSM in Changsha" received the excellent award of the "Hunan Provincial Social Science Award".
2015 As an associate chief editor, the book titled “The history of nursing of Central South University” was awarded the First Prize for recording the education history in Hunan Province by Hunan Ministry of Education.

2018 The report of “Research and suggestions on social care law” was awarded “Excellent research product” by China National Committee on Aging (Ranked the second author).
