In order to truly understand the study, life and physical and mental dynamics of international students during the COVID-19 epidemic and after their return to school this semester, and to allow the students who have been through lockdown for a long time due to the epidemic to relax their body and mind and return to normal learning as soon as possible ,the International Student Affairs Office of Xiangya Nursing School jointly held "Flower Fragrance and Friendship - Traditional Flower Art Culture Exchange and Sharing Activity" with school of international education of Central South University in Yuehu Park Huayi flower art club on September 18, 2020, for the purpose of enriching students’ extracurricular cultural life, activating learning atmosphere and enhancing communication between Chinese and foreign students. 28 international students and 3 student volunteers from the school participated in the activity together with Mr Peng Sayi of International Education Institute and Ms. Sun Mei of Xiangya School of Nursing.

Before the event, a student symposium was organized and the international students first gave a brief introduction. During the period, the teachers carefully asked about the study, life, and physical and mental health of the international students since the outbreak of the epidemic. The international students have spoken out their own situation and asked their own questions, and the teachers patiently answered them one by one.

After the meeting, everyone drove to the flower arrangement location together. After arriving at the designated place, the international students were attracted by the warmly decorated flower shop with an elegant environment and took photos.

The class of flower arrangement began with the active participation of the students. The so-called art of flower arrangement, in fact, refers to the pruning of the branches, leaves, flowers and fruits of plants. After pruning, students can use their imagination and creativity to display the beauty of nature in three dimensions by themselves.  Under the guidance of the teachers, the students started their own work, gave full play to what they had learned on the spot, and made their own satisfactory works. Through the activity, everyone got a deeper understanding and yearning for the exquisite flower arrangement art and its charm in the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

Finally, everyone held up their work and took a group photo together. International students spoke highly of this event and thanked the teachers and volunteer students of the school for their dedication.
