Professor Eileen Sullivan, Dean of Rory Meyers School of Nursing, New York University Visited Our School

At 8:30 a.m. on September 29, 2019, Dean of The Rory Meyers School of Nursing Professor Eileen Sullivan-Marx, Director of Global Affairs Professor Ann Bartley Williams, Deputy Director Professor Tian Hongping, and Senior researcher Dr. Lloyd A Goldsamt paid a visit to our school.

At the beginning of the exchange, Li Tao, the Party Committee Secretary of our school delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of the school, he welcomed four foreign guests from Rory Meyers School of Nursing, New York University, and reviewed the exchange and cooperation between teachers and students, discipline exchange and construction between the two sides since 2017. He expressed gratification at the good foundation laid by the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the past and looked forward to the future cooperation between the two sides. Later, Li Xianhong made a detailed elaboration from the aspects of joint training of students and so on. Professor Eileen Sullivan-Marx of the School of Nursing of New York University also introduced the development process and research direction of Rory Meyers School of Nursing of New York University. She focused on the long-term care of the elderly and community supporting services.


After in-depth exchanges and discussions, the two sides reached a consensus and signed a memorandum of cooperation. Both sides hope to use the cooperation agreement as a link to promote scientific research cooperation, strengthen joint doctoral training, and further promote the smooth development of Sino-Foreign Cooperative School-Running Project of our nursing school.


During the exchange, the honorary professor awarding ceremony was also held. On behalf of the school, Li Tao awarded the appointment letter to Professor Ann Bartley Williams and congratulated her on becoming an honorary professor of Central South University. He also thanked Professor Ann Bartley Williams for her continuous contribution to the friendly cooperation between New York University and Central South University.

Professor Ann Bartley Williams expressed her gratitude for the appointment of Central South University and further expressed her hope to make further efforts for the cooperation and development of both sides. Dr. Tian Hongping, Deputy Director of International Affairs, and Dr. Lloyd A Goldsamt, senior research fellow, witnessed this important ceremony.
