Sten Vermund, Dean of the Yale School of Public Health, and Cynthia Shi, Ph.D. assistant, visited our school on the morning of November 27, 2019. Chen Lizhang, Vice President of Central South University, Tang Siyuan, Dean of our nursing school, Hu Guoqing, Dean of Public Health School, Wu Xiaochuang, Deputy Dean of Medical School, Li Xianhong, Deputy Dean of our nursing school, Wang Honghong, Director of the Nursing School Professor Committee, Liu Wei, Director of Nursing School Research Center, Liu Zina, Associate Director of Nursing School and Chen Ling, Nursing School Foreign Affairs Secretary came for a meeting. The meeting was hosted by Li Xianhong.

Mr. Chen Lizhang, Vice President of Central South University, delivered a welcome speech. On behalf of Central South University, he welcomed Sten Vermund, Dean of the Yale School of Public Health, who had come all the way to Yale. He expressed his satisfaction at the friendship between the two sides over the past 100 years and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and visits between the two sides. Vice President Chen Lizhang said that Central South University attaches great importance to the cooperation and the university will provide policy, human resources and financial support. He hoped that the two sides could sign an agreement as soon as possible to implement the research cooperation.


Tang wants Xiangya Nursing School and Xiangya Public Health School to join forces with the Yale School of Nursing and the Yale School of Public Health to establish a research cooperation center.


Professor Sten Vermund was visiting Central South University for the first time and spoke highly of the school's long history and quality of teaching.


After in-depth discussions, the two sides have reached consensus on mutual visits of graduate students, joint training of graduate students and joint holding of international academic conferences.
